Claims of infidelity can be one reason that a couple may choose to divorce. For many couples the pain of such a betrayal is irreparable, and the couple may decide that divorce is the best course of action. It appears this is the case for the wife of the Yankee's general manager.

In the past, rumors circulated that the general manager was involved with another woman. At that time, he and his wife were able to work things out and remain married. However, now more allegations have surfaced that the general manager was involved in yet another relationship with a different woman.

According to sources, this divorce filing comes less than one day after this other woman appeared in court on charges related to stalking and extortion against the general manager. The woman was allegedly sending the man hundreds of text messages demanding that he pay her $15,000 for a medical procedure. Supposedly, he gave her $6,000, but did not pay up the rest.

However, as word of this came out, friends close to this woman have come out saying that the two were dating for close to a year, and that she ended the relationship after he broke a promise to leave his wife.

Now the general manager's 42-year-old wife has filed for divorce. In the divorce papers she stated that their marriage has been irretrievably broken.

According to the divorce papers, she is hoping for her share of their property, which includes a mansion valued at nearly $4 million. She is also hoping for permanent alimony and joint custody of their 13-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son.
