Supermodel Heidi Klum recently announced that she plans on divorcing Seal, her husband of nearly eight years. The model and the singer have three children together and face many of the same issues that many New Jersey families have when trying to figure out child custody issues during a separation.

The 48-year-old singer Seal recently gave an interview in which he discussed how he and Heidi approached the subject of his divorce with his children.

"Just explaining to them that things will be different, you know, without going into too much detail," the singer said. "But a lot of things won't change."

Seal added that the most important thing for him and Heidi was that their children continue to feel loved. He also stressed to the children that the split between their parents was not their fault.

Seal also said that he plans on keeping a home base in Los Angeles so the children's routine is disrupted when he isn't touring overseas. Both parents have significant international commitments. Seal is planning on launching a tour to support his recently released album. Heidi also hosts TV shows and events in her native homeland of Germany.

News of the divorce broke last week when Heidi Klum revealed that she had spent the weekend shopping around for divorce lawyers in Hollywood. Although there are no accusations of financial malfeasance, abuse or infidelity, Heidi was apparently unable to take Seal's reportedly unchecked temper. Seals temper was allegedly fostering a negative environment for the TV-hostess and her children so she decided that a divorce was in everyone's best interest.

The divorce has yet to be finalized however, and there are rumors that the couple may reconcile.
